THE STORY
It was the year to be remembered – 2020 – and Greenhouse Project had just launched to live with and serve struggling, impoverished families in Chester, PA (just outside Philly) so they can experience life transformation.
“Do you do graphics?” John Clifford asked. Our design work began with a simple brochure and a marketing plan that helped them think strategically about maximizing community impact while building a healthy donor base that keeps programs running.
As the creative lead for marketing communications, I established the tone and content messaging for Greenhouse Project’s website, blog, email marketing, print, social, and fundraising that evokes brand values while inspiring action through volunteerism, donations, and practical support.
My design and storytelling fingerprint are in fundraising strategies, campaign messaging, special photography, and multi-media projects including video.
Non-profit fundraising was new territory, so I dove in and committed my best. If I didn’t know how to do it, I learned in the quiet hours of all-nighters from experts in the non-profit world.
Notable outcomes:
• Fundraising goals met and exceeded, up to 2X
• Email Open Rate consistently 50-60% \ Click Thru Rate 1-6%
• 2022-2023 Website traffic +45% \ Unique visitors +75% \ Page views +28%
• Growing donor base with strategic focus on high-tier supporters and monthly giving
VIDEO PROJECTS
Concept, script writing, and direction of five+ videos in multi-year fundraising campaign "Give to Grow,” filmed in collaboration with the brilliant videographers at M&M Film Production.
Goal: Capture from real neighbors and donors the life change and positive community impact Greenhouse Project provides, contrasted against the gritty reality of daily life in Chester, PA.
